Patriotic Alliance PA leader Gayton McKenzie claims Economic Freedom Fighters EFF leader Julius Malema lives a billionaires lifestyle but cant prove how he acquired his alleged wealth.
In a live video on Facebook on Monday 28 July, McKenzie also accused Malema of robbing the now-defunct VBS Mutual Bank .
McKenzie takes on MalemaThe PA leader said the EFF is in ICU and has no politics, just gossip.
That leader, Malema, is like an old auntie who just gossips. He doesn't talk about his party, his policies or what they're going to do. He just talks about individuals, he added.
Me and you, we stay in expensive suburbs. How do you afford a suburb on a salary of a youth league leader? I can show how I can afford to stay there. You live a billionaires lifestyle, but you cant prove. How do you even get this money to live like this?
He was likely referring to Malemas purchase of a R3.6 million Sandowns, Johannesburg mansion in 2009 when he was still President of the African National Congress Youth League ANCYL.
Malema later demolished the property and started building a new one. However, it was auctioned for R5.9 million in 2011 to recover a tax debt he owed the South African Revenue Service SARS.
As EFF leader, he also faced allegations of defrauding VBS bank. He has denied the claims and has not been formally charged.
You know what me and Malema have in common? We are both bank robbers. He was VBS. Me and him, we are ex-criminal colleagues. I used to rob banks he used to do VBS. Hes robbing banks too, McKenzie claimed.
He was seemingly responding to Malemas comments on PA Deputy President Kenny Kunene last week. Malema claimed Kunenes explanation that he was at controversial businessman Katiso KT Molefes home to drop off a journalist was a pure lie.
