The Gauteng Provincial Legislatures Portfolio Committee on Community Safety has raised concerns following an unannounced oversight visit to the Olievenhoutbosch Police Station in Centurion recently.
The committees spokesperson Thebe Khumalo says the condition of the police station poses a serious risk to community members, police officers and staff.
Khumalo says suspects are often held at the front desk for long periods before being transferred to neighboring police stations with functional holding cells.
