A 46-year-old woman from Phuthaditjaba at Qwaqwa in the Free State survived drowning after she was allegedly pushed into an overflowing river by a taxi driver on Sunday night.
Police spokesperson Mmako Mophiring says the woman survived by holding onto a tree branch for more than 12 hours before being rescued by police and municipal divers yesterday.
Mophiri says that the woman boarded a taxi from Mabolela village to Phuthaditjhaba.
