Taylor Fritz delivered the decisive blow at the Laver Cup on Sunday by beating Alexander Zverev 6-3 7-64 as Team World completed a 15-9 win over Team Europe to reclaim the mens team competition title in San Francisco.
The victory marked Team Worlds third triumph in the eight editions of the competition, following back-to-back wins in 2022 and 2023, and sparked jubilant celebrations from captain Andre Agassis side at the Chase Center.
Were going to have a fun night. Were definitely popping champagne in the locker room in a few minutes, Fritz said.
