Four Dead as Unknown Disease Hits Zamfara
Four people have been reported dead in three local government area of Zamfara State as a mysterious disease infects 177 persons who are mostly children.
The disease which has been associated with consumption of unclean water has so far plagued include, Maradun, Gusau and Shinkafi LGAs.
According to authorities, the disease is characterised by abdominal distension, accumulation of fluid in abdomen, enlarged liver and spleen, fever and general body weakness.
Health Digest gathered that the states Ministry of Health, in conjunction with relevant authorities, are working diligently to determine the cause of the strange disease.
