In a statement, the commission said is has been notified by the Blue Oval over a faulty exhaust gas recirculation EGR valve in 483 Ranger XLT and Wildtraks sold between 18 February and 18 March last year.

The EGR valve in some of the affected vehicles may fail, which may result in a loss of engine power, typically at speeds below 24 km/h, the commission said.
