FlySafair has confirmed that all flights scheduled for today are operating as planned, regardless of an ongoing dispute involving a segment of its pilot workforce led by the trade union Solidarity, Cape town Etc reports.
This reassurance comes as the airline continues to implement a reduced yet stable flight schedule proactively agreed upon just last week.
On Tuesday, 22 July, FlySafair said it achieved an impressive on-time performance rate of 95.2 from its condensed schedule.
As part of its operational adjustments, two of the approximate 120 daily flights will be conducted under a passenger protection agreement with South African Airways, ensuring that customers continue to receive a degree of service continuity amid the labour unrest.
Speaking on the matter, Kirby Gordon, Chief Marketing Officer at FlySafair, expressed gratitude for the team's efforts: Our focus remains on supporting our customers and restoring full operations as quickly as possible. We are immensely grateful to our teams across the business who are going above and beyond to keep our operations running smoothly under challenging circumstances.
