Five suspects aged between 34 and 70-years-old have been arrested for illegal possession of unlicensed high calibre firearms and ammunition in the northern areas of KwaZulu-Natal.
Police say the five were arrested separately during intelligence driven operations at Melmoth and Nkandla policing precincts.
KZN police spokesperson Paul Magwaza says a foreign national is amongst those arrested, he could not produce documentation permitting him to be in possession of such a firearm, he was then arrested and charged for possession of an unlicensed firearm.
