Police have discovered a firearm that was used in the fatal shooting of twelve people and the wounding of 13 others in Saulsville in Attridgeville, west of Pretoria, earlier this month. This follows ballistics tests that were conducted on the firearm that police had seized during the arrest of a suspect in Polokwane, Limpopo.
National Police Commissioner Fannie Masemola has applauded the multi-disciplinary team that is investigating the shooting incident for registering a breakthrough.
Last week, a joint operation involving Gauteng and Limpopo police arrested one of the three persons of interest in Polokwane, in Limpopo. During the arrest, police seized a firearm and several rounds of ammunition found in his possession.
