The Hawks in the Free State say the killing of two police constables inside the Koffiefontein police station in June 2017 is still under investigation.
This comes after families and residents raised concerns that the investigations were slow. Family members say for eight years they have been struggling to find closure.
Residents of the mining town have called on the police top brass to intervene.
