exreds star reckons salahs future is not a priority to liverpool

Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy believes that Mohamed Salahs future should not be the number one priority for the Merseyside club at the end of the season.

The Egyptians future has been one of the biggest talking points in Premier League football in the last couple of months. Yet to make a decision on his next move, Salah has been linked with a big-money transfer to the Saudi Pro League with Jurgen Klopp set to leave the club at the end of the 2023/24 campaign.

According to Murphy, Salah will not leave in an ideal world and that his goal scoring prowess makes him a difficult player to replace. However, Murphy also believes that the future of Virgil van Dijk should be sorted out sooner than that of Salah.

In an ideal world, he will not leave. His reliability in front of goal is obvious and although he would bring in a big fee, replacing him and finding someone who guarantees the same numbers would be nigh on impossible, Murphy wrote for the BBC .

He has got that rare and wonderful attribute of scoring goals even when he is not playing that well, so I really hope he stays. But the reality is he might not. He might fancy a new challenge which is the best thing for him and his family.

And as amazing as Salah is, I still think the number one priority for the new manager will be to secure Virgil van Dijks future.
