Revenue grew by 4 to R191.3 billion, driven by a 12.74 electricity tariff increase from 1 April 2025. However, sales volumes declined 3 due to production halts in the industrial sector and the continued rooftop solar uptake.
We estimate that more than 7.3GW of behind-the-meter rooftop solar capacity has been installed in South Africa, Eskom noted.
Sales volumes remain suppressed due to the continued impact of theft through illegal connections, meter tampering and the use of illegal electricity tokens on prepaid meters.
