Eskoms huge tariff increases , which have taken effect, have compounded the woes of South African households, which are already dealing with high fuel price increases.
The power utility has implemented a National Energy Regulator of South Africa NERSA-approved average tariff increase of 8.76 for direct customers from today, for the 2026-2027 financial year.
Municipal customers face a higher tariff increase of roughly 9.01, effective from July 1.
