Ericsson and Ooredoo Qatar have successfully completed a proof of concept PoC for the Automated Energy Saver feature, part of Ericsson 5G Advanced Energy Efficiency and Management solutions. The trial demonstrated the ability of Ericsson's software to dynamically optimize energy consumption and network resources based on real-time traffic demand and network conditions.

The Automated Energy Saver functionality activates or deactivates radio resources according to user throughput, ensuring energy efficiency during both low- and high-traffic periods without compromising user experience. Within just one week, the PoC achieved an estimated 15 percent reduction in radio power consumption while maintaining consistent network performance.

The success of the PoC represents a key step toward deploying Ericsson 5G Advanced across Ooredoo Qatar's network. It aligns with the Qatar National Vision 2030, supporting the country's goals for sustainable, intelligent connectivity.
