Former Chelsea striker, Carlton Cole, has slammed manager Mauricio Pochettino for failing to control the penalty situation involving three of his players - Cole Palmer, Noni Madueke and Nicolas Jackson - during their Premier League 6-0 win over Everton on Monday.

Cole highlighted that the Chelsea players were not showing unity on the pitch, adding that this reflected Pochettinos lack of organisational skills.

Recall that Madueke and Nicolas Jackson were involved in a heated argument alongside Palmer regarding who should take a penalty against Everton.

Multiple other Chelsea players including captain Conor Gallagher had to step in to clear the air.

It was Palmer who eventually took the spot kick and converted it.

It just shows you they have got petulant kids in that dressing room, they are not on the same page are they? When you went out before a game youd see on the whiteboard who was on set-pieces, it is clear as day. He [Pochettino] is not a good organiser then, Cole told talkSPORT.

It doesnt matter what the score is, it doesnt say on the board if you get a hat-trick you pass it on to the next man. It doesnt work like that. If youre on set-pieces you are the set-piece taker, and if youre on penalties youre the penalty taker, there is nothing that changes that.

He added, It starts from Poch. If you were going to do that at a big club like Chelsea, that is childish, that is not anybody who is going to win anything for the club. Rule number one, you dont do that, you show unity on the pitch.
