England turned on the style at Wembley, easing past Wales 3-0 in a friendly that never really looked like a contest. The victory marked England's eighth consecutive win over their neighbours and stretched their unbeaten run at Wembley to a solid 12 matches.
Just as predicted in Softfootballs pregame analysis, the Three Lions came flying out of the traps, bagging three goals inside the first 20 minutes their quickest route to a 3-0 lead in almost four decades. Morgan Rogers opened the floodgates in the 3rd minute, calmly slotting home after Marc Guehi's clever cutback. Ollie Watkins made it two with a close-range tap-in from Elliot Anderson's cross, before Bukayo Saka curled in a beauty from the right to make it three before Wales could even catch their breath.
Watkins, who replaced the injured Harry Kane after the striker missed training, could've had another before the break but somehow missed from point-blank range before colliding painfully with the post. He was substituted at halftime for Marcus Rashford, with Thomas Tuchel using the second half to rotate and test a few combinations.
