A routine wellness check in Flamingo Vlei took a grim turn on the evening of Wednesday, 19 November, when an armed response officer discovered the body of a 75-year-old man inside his home, Cape town Etc reports.
The officer was dispatched to a property in Sceptre Crescent, Table View, after concerns were raised about the homeowner's wellbeing. Upon arrival, he received no response at the door and noticed a sliding door standing partially open.
After calling out several times and hearing nothing, the officer entered the house. Inside one of the bedrooms, he found the elderly resident dead, with his hands and feet bound. The home was in a state of disorder.
