The Young Pharaohs run at the FIFA U-17 World Cup came to an end as Egypt suffered a 3-1 defeat to Switzerland in the Round of 32 in Qatar.
The Swiss opened the scoring in the 16 th minute through Nevio Scherrer, with Ethan Bruchez adding a second just before halftime. Jill Stiel sealed the result with a third goal in the 58 th minute, capping off a dominant display.
Egypt managed a consolation goal deep into stoppage time through substitute Anas Roshdy, but the outcome had long been settled by then.
