West Africas ECOWAS and African Union observers express concern over the military takeover in Guinea-Bissau and the arrests of election officials.
It is reported that on Wednesday, a group of army officers seized power in the coup-prone West African nation on the day before the planned announcement of results from a hotly contested presidential election.
In a joint statement that was released by ECOWAS and African Union observers , they express deep concern with the announcement of a coup by the armed force while the nation is waiting for the announcement of the result.
