As the economic hardship bites harder, actress Mercy Aigbe has made a heartfelt appeal to President Bola Tinubu through his son, Seyi.

The actress empathetic plea comes barely twenty-four hours after he (Seyi) urged Nigerians to endure with his father if they genuinely aspire for a better Nigeria.

Ms Aigbe, who shared on her Instagram page on Monday a video of Nigerians struggling and scrambling for food amidst the country's current economic distress, said people are starving to death, perishing, and losing their sanity.

She described the situation people are enduring under Mr Tinubu's leadership as unbelievable, noting that it is time to end the suffering.

She wrote: "People are hungry. People are dying. People are going out of their minds. The present situation in the country is terrible. The government should please, please, we are begging; they should do something about this economic hardship.

"It's unbearable, @officialasiwajubat. Seyi Tinubu, please beg your father for us! O to ge."

Similarly, her colleague, Laide Bakare, decried the nations state in a video posted on social media, adding that Nigeria had never been this bad before.

She urged Mr Tinubu to look into the state of the nation. "It's not a happy new week. Abeg, which way to go? @officialasiwajubat, please look into the state of the nation; Nigeria has never been this Bad #stateofthenation #Nigeria," the caption of her video read.

Ms Aigbe was not the first or second celebrity to step forward and address the hardship experienced by citizens under Mr Tinubus leadership.
