The government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo DRC and football team FC Barcelona have announced a four-year sponsorship agreement.
The agreement will see all of FC Barcelonas professional teams wearing the emblem RD Congo Coeur dAfrique, which translates to DR Congo Heart of Africa, on the back of their training shirts until the end of the 2028/29 season. The DRC will also become the clubs Official Empowerment Partner for Sports and Culture.
The agreement will also be reflected in FC Barcelonas upcoming Espai Bara redevelopment project. The Spotify Camp Nou, a stadium in Barcelona, will house the House of the DRC, an immersive exhibition space designed to showcase the DRCs cultural diversity and sporting traditions.
