<h4>Minimum Requirements:</h4>

• Education:
  • Grade 12
  • Bachelors Degree in Building Sciences, Architecture, Town and Regional Planning, Development Studies, or equivalent.
• Professional Registration:
  • Registration as a Professional Planner under the Planning Professions Act, 2002 Act No. 36 of 2002 is preferred.
• Finance Certification:
  • Certificate in Municipal Finance Management or the candidate will complete it within 18 months of appointment.
• Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years experience at middle management level, preferably in Local Government.
  • Proven experience in Professional Development, Town and Regional Planning.
• Other Requirements:
  • Valid Code B Driver's License.

<h4>Key Performance Areas:</h4>

• Budget Management: Drive, implement, monitor, and report on the Directorates budget inputs.
• Economic Development: Lead tourism investment efforts and social/economic development initiatives aimed at promoting growth, organizational development, and transformation.
• Strategic Planning amp Implementation: Develop and manage strategies, spatial plans, town planning, township establishment, and housing matters.
• IDP Credibility: Ensure the Municipality maintains a credible Integrated Development Plan IDP.
• Municipal Functions: Oversee housing, building control, town planning, and land-use management functions.
• Economic Strategy amp LED: Coordinate strategic planning of economic development processes, manage LED initiatives for SMMEs, tourism development, economic policy, research, and investment/trade promotions.
• Policy Development: Oversee the development and review of relevant policies and strategies.
