Motorists can expect to pay more at the pump with fuel prices set to increase from midnight.

The Department of Minerals and Petroleum Resources has announced that the price of petrol will increase by between 52 cents and 55 cents a litre, depending on the grade.

Diesel will increase by between 82 cents and 84 cents per litre depending on the grade, while the price of paraffin is set to increase by 89 cents per litre.

The department says the price of LP gas will decrease by 57 cents per kilogram countrywide except in the Western Cape where it will increase by R1.90 cents per kilogram.

The Departments Robert Maake says the reasons for the adjustments are because, the high oil prices caused by the conflict in the Middle East between Israel and Iran during the period under review.
