SACO Shipping has expanded its airfreight service offering with the launch of a dedicated packing and crating facility at its Durban operation now officially approved by the Civil Aviation Authority CAA to handle dangerous goods DG. We are very excited about this development, said Jacob Pretorius, airfreight general manager at SACO Shipping. These services are available as standalone offerings and arent limited to cargo being moved by SACO. Freight forwarders can contact our team directly for packing-only quotes. The aim, he said, was to simplify logistics for customers who would otherwise need to coordinate between separate providers for crating and freight. This gives clients the option of managing the entire process through one channel. That said, weve kept the service independent. The cargo doesnt have to move through SACO to make use of our packing capabilities. As a neutral freight consolidator, SACO has emphasised that it will not pursue business introduced by clients for packing purposes, maintaining a strict non- compete approach. The company has also begun offering packing and crating for general cargo at its Johannesburg facility, although DG accreditation for that site is still pending. LV
