The Democratic Alliance DA has nominated Cilliers Brink as its candidate for Mayor of the City of Tshwane in the 2026 local government elections.
DA leader John Steenhuisen made the announcement on Friday 15 August, citing Brinks record when he served as the Citys Mayor for 18 months between 2023 and 2024.
A coalition that included the DA, ActionSA , Freedom Front Plus, Inkatha Freedom Party, African Christian Democratic Party and COPE elected him in March 2023.
