The Democratic Alliance says Parliaments newly established Oversight Committee on the Presidency could become one of the strongest tools for holding the executive to account, if used properly.
The National Assembly approved the committee last week. It will give MPs a dedicated mechanism to scrutinise the Presidencys work, spending, and decision-making.
The DA, which says it originally pushed for the establishment of the Committee, says it now wants to ensure that the body delivers meaningful oversight.
