Chelsea attacker, Nicolas Jackson, has apologised to the club, his teammates and fans after being sent off in the Blues 3-1 defeat to Flamengo in their second group game in the ongoing FIFA Club World Cup in the US. DAILY POST reports that Jackson started the game from the bench and was introduced in the 63rd in the place of Liam Delap.
He was brought in to rescue the Blues who were already 2-1 down but the Ivorian ended up adding insult to injury.
Pedro Neto put the Premier League side in front in Philadelphia, before the Brazilian side fought back to score twice after the break through Bruno Henrique and Danilo.
Jackson was shown a straight red card for a nasty tackle and will be banned for one game.
The Ivorian nearly cost Enzo Marescas side a place in the Champions League when he received an unnecessary red card during a crucial match against Newcastle United in the Premier League last season.
