The City of Tshwane has welcomed a High Court judgment setting aside the Rooiwal Wastewater Treatment Plant tender to corruption-accused Edwin Sodis company, Blackhead Consulting.
The High Court in Pretoria found that the awarding of the 2019 multimillion-rand tender did not comply with legal and procedural requirements.
It ordered that Sodis companies and their joint venture pay back profits of the R292 million tender.
The SIU had found irregularities in the appointment of the contractor.
In 2022, the City of Tshwane terminated the contract after the contractor abandoned the site.
