United States US retail giant Walmart has announced that it will launch its first store in South Africa at Clearwater Mall in Johannesburgs West Rand region.
Earlier this month, Walmart-owned Massmart shared a picture on X of the first Walmart storefront on African soil after it was lit up . MyBroadBand subsequently reported that the store was located at Fourways Mall in Johannesburg, citing a mall employee.
Walmart to launch first store at Clearwater MallHowever, Walmart has now confirmed that its outlet at Clearwater Mall will be the first to launch. It will announce the opening date in the next few weeks, it said in a statement on Thursday 30 October.
