In a concerted effort to tackle the HIV epidemic, city clinics have ramped up treatment and prevention measures, improving access to Anti-Retroviral Treatment ART and Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis PrEP despite facing significant challenges this year, including the USAID Stop Work Order.
As the City of Cape Town aligns its strategies with the National Close the Gap Campaign, which is set to conclude on World AIDS Day, the focus has been on re-engaging over 70,000 individuals living with HIV who are currently not receiving ART care.
This initiative is part of a broader strategy aimed at strengthening HIV and TB services through quality improvement projects.
