Cristian Chivu couldn't have wished for a better start to life as Inter Milan manager. In his first Serie A match in charge, the Nerazzurri dismantled Torino 5-0 at San Siro, recording their biggest-ever win over I Granata since the 1958/59 season, Softfootball reports.
Having fallen agonizingly short of defending the Scudetto last term, Inter began their 2025/26 campaign determined to send a message. They didn't take long to get going either. 18 minitues on the clock, Alessandro Bastoni rose highest to glance home Nicolo Barella's corner, the ball sailing over Franco Israel and nestling into the far corner.
The momentum only grew from there. Marcus Thuram punished Torino's slack defending later in the first half, calmly slotting past Israel to double Inter's advantage and underline the gulf in quality between the two sides.
