Chelsea secured a return to the UEFA Champions League after a two-year absence, thanks to centre-back Levi Colwill's decisive strike in a tense 1-0 victory over Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Sunday.
The result dashed Forest's hopes of a top-five finish, leaving them seventh and set for the UEFA Conference League instead.
Colwill netted early in the second half to hand Enzo Maresca's side the three points they needed to clinch fourth place in the Premier League.
Chelsea ended the campaign four points ahead of Forest, who were aiming for their first Champions League appearance since 1980-81.
Despite facing criticism for his often defensive tactical approach, Maresca steered the Blues to five wins in their final six league matches-enough to secure elite European football next season.
