The Ministry of Posts and Digital Economy of Chad officially launched a regional workshop on the mapping of fiber optic infrastructures at the Hotel de l'Friendship. Scheduled from December 15 to 18, 2025, the workshop aims to strengthen knowledge of existing fiber-optic networks, promote investment, improve network planning, and foster universal connectivity across Africa.
The opening ceremony brought together key regional and international stakeholders, including the Executive President and Permanent Secretary of ARTAC, the Director General of ARCEP, and a representative of the International Telecommunications Union ITU.
The workshop focuses on the strategic importance of digital infrastructure for regional integration, financial inclusion, and digital sovereignty. Participants are working to enhance connectivity, address cybersecurity and cybercrime challenges, and promote digital trust across the continent.
