Ghana's cedi has weakened against major foreign currencies on the interbank market, with the US dollar seeing the most significant gain.
According to the Bank of Ghana 's latest daily update, the cedi is now trading at a buying rate of GH10.34 and a selling rate of GH10.35 to the dollar-up from its previous rates of GH10.31 and GH10.32, respectively.
The British pound is being bought at GH14.05 and sold at GH14.06, while the euro is trading at GH12.12 for buying and GH12.13 for selling.
Market checks by GhanaWeb Business on the morning of July 9, 2025, show that the cedi is trading at GH12.35 to the dollar in some forex bureaus, with the pound going for GH17.00 and the euro at GH14.50 on the retail market.
In a bid to help stabilise the currency, the Bank of Ghana has recently received 360 million from the International Monetary Fund.
