Cape Towns long-awaited redevelopment of the iconic Strandfontein Pavilion is officially underway, with a R300 million investment set to transform the historic coastal site into a modern, multi-use destination, Cape town Etc reports.
Geordin Hill-Lewis on Tuesday launched the flagship project along the False Bay coastline, describing it as a significant milestone for both the City and surrounding communities.
Its a joy to break ground today on this flagship project. We promised we would rebuild the Strandfontein Pavilion, and now this is being fulfilled, the mayor said. It is an emotional day seeing this come to fruition.
