The City of Cape Town says no decision has been taken to remove Christian or religious symbols from the Festive Lights on Adderley Street.
This follows concerns raised by the African Christian Democratic Party.
The City says symbols like angels, the Mother Mary and the baby Jesus remain part of this years display.
