The City of Cape Towns Film Office has announced the opening of applications for its Film Fund, aimed at supporting a variety of productions set for completion during the 2025/26 financial year, Cape town Etc reports.
This funding opportunity is part of the citys ongoing efforts to bolster its reputation as a premier film and media destination in South Africa.
With the goal of fostering growth within the local film industry, the Film Fund provides financial assistance and municipal services to qualifying film and media projects.
This initiative includes support for a diverse array of productions, ranging from short and feature films to music videos, commercials, and reality TV series.
Mayoral Committee Member for Safety and Security Alderman JP Smith said that, Last month, we announced the funds inaugural recipients, showcasing compelling projects that tell unique local stories, deeply rooted in Cape Towns thriving film industry.
