Canal Africa has officially announced its new leadership team following the company's takeover of DStv parent MultiChoice Group, marking a significant reshaping of the pay-TV landscape across the continent.
According to the Daily Investor , Calvo Mawela, the outgoing CEO of MultiChoice, has been appointed as Chairman of Canal Africa, while David Mignot steps in as the new Chief Executive Officer. The leadership appointments cover the whole of Africa, including French-speaking regions, and bring together senior talent from both companies.
The newly-formed management team has been drawn from an equal mix of executives from Canal and MultiChoice. As highlighted in a company statement carried by , the structure is designed to ensure stability through the transition while seeking to introduce fresh skills and international expertise.
