Cameroons 92-year-old president Paul Biya is determined to secure an unprecedented 8th term in the upcoming elections this Sunday.
Despite facing significant security and economic challenges, Biya remains a strong contender against his rivals. However, his pursuit of another term is increasingly contested by growing calls for political change and demands that he step aside.
Paul Biya has been the second president of Cameroon since 1982, having previously served as the countrys 5th prime minister under President Ahmadou Ahidjo from 1975 to 1982.
