Etoo who had earlier told minister Narcisse Mouele Kombi in writing that he had recieved a letter of resignation from the coach and is keen on putting that into effect opted for a new position in his release of July 31, pointing out the need for a peaceful atmosphere as his motivation.
The Cameroon Football Federation informs the public that it has taken note of Mr. Marc Brys retraction, which came two days after he had, on his own initiative, notified his resignation from the position of head coach of the Indomitable Lions, by a registered letter dated July 21, 2025, president Etoo wrote on behalf of the Federation.
He further explained the motivation behind the change in his position
True to its constant desire to seek a calm and serene climate in its collaboration with the supervisory minister, the FECAFOOT Emergency Committee has decided to take note of the desire expressed by both parties to the contract to continue the contractual relationship between the Government and Marc Brys, he further explained.
For starters, just over a week ago, a letter had Marc Brys flooded the social media, allegedly written by Marc Brys in which he stepped down from his role as the coach of Cameroon. Only that, a few hours after the letter was released and reports aired by various media organizations, Brys issued a release, disowning the first letter, starting his email had been hacked, while reaffirming his commitment to stay as the national team coach. The turn of events and the ministers approach towards it rather spiked FECAFOOT who maintained Brys had formally told them he us stepping down. They went as far as tagging him the ex-coach of the Indomitable Lions.
The dramatic twist of July 31 readmitting Brys as head coach of the Indomitable Lions is thus a welcome development from the Federation. This move has been praised by goodwill Cameroonians seeking to see the progress of the team and the countrys football.
Brys is expected in Cameroon this August 1 and during his time in the country, he will be received at the presidency, publish the list of preselected players for the September international break amongst others.
