The Commune of Komsilga has officially opened its first modern post office, marking a major milestone in efforts to bring essential public services closer to citizens. The inauguration ceremony, held on Friday, October 17, 2025, was presided over by the Minister of Digital Transition, Posts, and Electronic Communications, Dr. Aminata Zerbo/Sabane. This new facility becomes the 33rd branch in the Greater Ouaga regional network and raises the total number of post offices across Burkina Faso to 129.
The inauguration drew strong community participation, featuring a ribbon-cutting ceremony, a guided tour of the premises, and a symbolic tree planting. Representing the Chief of Komsilga, Naaba Boulga II, a community spokesperson expressed the population's gratitude for this long-awaited development. He noted that residents previously had to travel to Ouagadougou for postal services, but now have access to their own fully equipped post office, which will save time and improve convenience.
Ibrahim Saba, Director General of La Poste BF, highlighted that the opening of the Komsilga branch aligns with the institution's commitment to fulfilling the Universal Postal Service mandate - ensuring that all citizens, regardless of location, have equitable access to postal and financial services. He stated that the new agency embodies the government's vision of the Maison du Citoyen House of the Citizen, promoting public service delivery that is inclusive, digital, and community-oriented. He also announced that Madame elise Ilboudo would serve as the head of the new branch.
