The Minister of Digital Transition, Postal and Electronic Communications of Burkina Faso, Dr. Aminata Zerbo/Sabane, met with Boris Compaore, General Manager of Telecel Faso, on December 8, 2025, to discuss the progress of the company's project to expand telecommunications coverage across the country's white zones.

During the meeting, Compaore reported that the deployment is well underway. In addition to the 150 sites initially planned, Telecel Faso is adding another 150 sites to accelerate coverage, aiming to reach both urban and rural municipal capitals. The expansion is expected to significantly reduce areas without digital connectivity and improve access to quality digital services for the population.

Minister Zerbo praised Telecel Faso's dedication to bridging the digital divide, acknowledging the challenges encountered during deployment. Compaore reaffirmed the company's commitment to the government's vision of providing accessible and high-quality digital services to all citizens, emphasizing that the expanded project will have a meaningful impact on connectivity nationwide.
