In an official communiqu released on Wednesday, FECAFOOT confirmed the decision in clear terms:
The move comes in the aftermath of Cameroons 3-1 aggregate defeat to Algeria, a result that extended the Lionesses absence from continental competition to a second consecutive WAFCON and also ruled them out of the 2027 FIFA Womens World Cup.
Bisseck, who was appointed in 2022, leaves without having led Cameroon to any major tournament. His reign was marred by inconsistent performances, internal criticism, and growing frustration among fans and former players over the teams decline.
This decision marks the beginning of yet another rebuilding phase for the once-dominant Lionesses, who had previously qualified for every WAFCON since 2006 before back-to-back eliminations under his watch.
FECAFOOT is expected to name an interim coach in the coming days as part of its plan to restructure the womens national team setup.
