A fire tore through parts of the historic Laborie Wine Estate in Paarl on Saturday, resulting in the destruction of Giovannis Restaurant and eight Werf accommodation rooms, while firefighters managed to prevent the blaze from spreading to the estates iconic Manor House, reports Cape town Etc .
According to an official statement released by Laborie Estate, the fire broke out around midday and was later brought under control following an extensive emergency response.
Laborie Estate confirms that a fire occurred on the estate today, resulting in the loss of Giovannis Restaurant and eight Werf accommodation rooms, the statement read.
