Arthur Hayes Returns to Crypto Investing

Arthur Hayes, co-founder of BitMEX, is making a bold move back into the crypto sector. His family office, Maelstrom, is reportedly seeking 250 million to launch a private equity fund. One thats focused on acquiring mid-sized crypto companies.

The fund will target businesses in trading infrastructure, analytics platforms, and related services. Each acquisition is expected to range between 40 million and 75 million, with up to six companies target.

Maelstrom co-founder and managing partner Akshat Vaidya said investors are looking for exposure to high-cash flow, high-growth crypto sectors but lack the in-house expertise to access these opportunities. Vaidya will manage the fund alongside Hayes and new partner Adam Schlegel.
