Bishops Diocesan College's 24-Hour Cycle Challenge has raised more than R930 000 for the VUSA Rugby and Learning Academy in Langa, with final donations still arriving.
The event returned in its fifth year on 6-7 September, drawing schools, corporates, families and professional players who took shifts on stationary bikes to support education, nutrition and skills development for about 1 400 children. Peoples Post
Organisers said the fundraiser combines community spirit with practical impact. Nikki Matthews, chief operating officer of VUSA, said every child deserves a safe place, a hot meal and opportunities to learn English, maths, coding, sport, art and music.
