..urges prayers, support for President Tinubu, Akume, Alia

By Peter Duru, Makurdi

The former Governor of Benue State, Chief Samuel Ortom has said irrespective of political inclination, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Senator George Akume remains the indisputable political leader of the State.

The former Governor who made the declaration while thanking supporters and well-wishers who attended the reception put together in his honour to mark his 63rd birthday anniversary in Makurdi urged the people to always pray for the SGF and support him.

He also called for prayers and support for President Bola Tinubu and the Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia to succeed in the task of governance. He noted that elections and litigations were over and it was time for governance which should be supported by the people.

Hear him: Let us continue to pray for President Bola Tinubu, let us also pray for the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Senator George Akume, a great man who has given leadership to the state and this nation.

God does not make mistakes. It is not by mistake that as SGF he had served as Local Government Chairman, he served as Permanent Secretary, he served as Governor for two terms, he served as Senator for three terms and he served as Minister and now SGF.

God does not make mistakes. He is the undisputable leader of the state. We could have differences in political parties, but when it comes to our state Senator George Akume remains our leader.

Let nobody be deceived; we are from the other political divide but when it comes to leadership, that is what it is. So let us support him.

Let us also support Governor Hyacinth Alia. He is the one that God has brought at this time. Elections are over, litigation is over, now is for governance, we must support him.

But he too must allow us to support him, because Benue belongs to all of us. If there is no Benue we cannot contest election in 2027. And so we are all stakeholders.
