The Bellville Library, a cornerstone of educational and recreational resources for the local community, is temporarily closed as a result of cable theft, the City of Cape Town announced, Cape town Etc reports.
The closure took effect on 29 December 2025 and is expected to last until at least 11 January 2026 while repairs are carried out.
According to the City's Library and Information Services, the facility is currently without an electricity supply, which has made it impossible to operate.
