The owner of KwaNoxolos Tavern in Bekkersdal , Monesi Gertrude Matwa, has been released on R1500 bail.
Matwa appeared briefly at the Westonaria Magistrate Court.
The 47-year-old woman faces a charge of fraud after police discovered that the liquor license used to operate the Tavern where 9 people died in a mass shooting was fraudulent.
