A loud rumour has been making rounds on social media involving the BCCI approaching the former Test great Virat Kohli to reverse his decision and make a return to the longest format of the game. The BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia has finally dropped an official remark on the same.
India have failed to look very promising in the red-ball format, as they have in the white-ball format. Moreover, the Indian batting order, despite the large amount of talent, has lacked stability without any senior pros' presence to guide them through tough and under-pressure situations.
Devajit Saikia rules out rumours of Virat Kohli's Test returnEver since India struggled to keep up with consistency in Test cricket and lost the home series to South Africa with a whitewash, Virat Kohli has been missed from the format. Some reports suggested that the BCCI is thinking about bringing back some of the retired players.
